Why are allergies so much worse these days?
300 years ago, we didn’t have clean drinking water. Municipal water treatment began in the early 1800’s. Our immune systems were always busy fighting cholera, typhoid, etc. 100 years ago, we didn’t have antibiotics. We spent more time dealing with bacteria and parasites. And, 50 years ago we didn’t all have wall-to-wall carpeting and spend 90 percent of our time indoors. read more...
Combating allergies and asthma.
At The Allergy Clinic, you're assured of a complete allergy evaluation by nationally-recognized experts. One of our most effective diagnostic tools is listening – letting you tell us about your lifestyle, habits, activities and symptoms. When appropriate, we also conduct tests to determine if you have allergic reactions to specific allergens.
If something is confusing, we will carefully explain it, in language you can understand. We emphasize patient education because we realize there is a lot of confusion about allergies, and how they can be treated. As board certified specialists in adult and pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology, we are armed with the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies and asthma, balanced with the common sense that comes from years of experience.

What is an allergist?
Allergists, such as the physicians at The Allergy Clinic, are medical specialists in the treatment of allergic diseases and related conditions. Any physician may treat allergic diseases; however, our board-certified allergists/immunologists have the advanced training and experience in the techniques of determining what causes an allergic reaction and how best to solve the problem.
All of our board-certified allergists have credentials in at least two specialties, and have completed specialty training in either internal medicine or pediatrics, with Board Certification in that specialty, followed by additional training for two or more years studying the science, cause, diagnosis, and treatment of allergic and related diseases. Certification by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology requires not only approved training, but also successful completion of a challenging written examination.
Serving our patients for over fifty years.
