The Allergy Clinic was founded in 1956 by Joseph I. Engler, M.D., a native Texan, trained in allergy at the
National Institutes of Health and at Harvard's Mass General Hospital. In the 1990's he was joined by his son,
Dr. David B. Engler (1991), and by Dr. Alnoor A. Malick (1996), both trained in allergy at the University of
Texas Medical Branch, and both Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. In 2005,
Dr. Carlos J. Vital joined The Allergy Clinic. Dr. Vital, a native of New Orleans, trained in allergy at Louisiana
State University, and also is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Joseph
Engler retired in 2007, but continues to visit our Fannin location regularly, greeting old and new patients alike.
You don't have to wait. The Allergy Clinic is dedicated to seeing you the same day you call for an appointment
(or at least the next day), at any of our three convenient locations, each with free parking. Our courteous staff
will assist you with your insurance. We participate in most managed care plans.
